M. Ikhlasul Amal

PI of Materials for Sustainable Environment Group Research

Ph.D. Yeungnam Univ.

MT. UI

BS. ITB

Biography

Dr. Amal Graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. His undergraduate research focused on Fibrinolytic enzymes from local earthworms Perionyx excavatus strain. After college, he received his degree of Master of Engineering in Material Science from Indonesia University. He moved to South Korea and was awarded P.hD in Material Science and Engineering from Yeungnam University in 2012.  His dissertation work was on the formation of Cu2ZnSnX4 (X=S,Se) thin films by chalcogenizaion of sputtered metallic precursor from a Cu-Zn-Sn target. Currently, his research is working on development of processing technology for manganese ore resources into manganese derivative products.

Hanny Shafira

Researcher of Materials for Sustainable Environment Group Research

ST. ITB

Biography

Shafira graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology in 2018 with a Bachelor in Bioengineering. Her undergraduate research with Dr. Taufikurahman focused on bioremediation of anaerobic digested dairy manure wastewater using microalgae by varying the type of LED. Currently, she belongs to Materials for Sustainable Environment research group and works in wastewater treatment using advanced oxidation process integrated with bubble mill generator to increase mass transfer efficiencies at the gas-liquid interfaces. She has much interest in the bioremediation, biorefinery and product development of microalgae, especially the production of its secondary metabolites.

Retno Kusumaningrum

Researcher of Materials for Sustainable Environment Group Research

M.Sc. UGM

S.Si. Undip

Biography

Retno Kusumaningrum graduated from Diponegoro University in 2012 with Bachelor of Science in chemistry. After college, she joined master’s program at Gadjah Mada University in 2016. She has joined NCIRI since 2017 and focused to develop the Sumbawa manganese ore processing into their derivative products such as manganese sulphate, nanoparticles of Mn3O4 and manganese ferrite as paint pigment for military equipment. Currently, she granted for research award from Ministry of Research and Technology, Indonesia by INSINAS program to develop polilactic acid using manganese derivative catalyst.

Kurniawan Eko Saputro Z.

Research Associate of Materials for Sustainable Environment Group Research

STP. UB

Biography

Kurniawan Eko Saputro is a Research Associate on the Sustainable Materials and Technology team. He’s responsible for the development of new technological process to recycle, safe-to-dispose and environmental-friendly material. He graduated from Brawijaya University with a Bachelor of Engineering in Agroindustrial Technology. After college, Kurniawan joined Dr. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman’s lab as a Research Associate in the Material Processing Department at the Indonesia Institute of Science to develop promising pathway of vegetable oil waste recycling effort for 6 months. Afterwards, he worked as Project Researcher in the Industrial Engineering Department at the UNUSIA for nearly 2 years where he successfully recycled dust collector waste to be use as reinforcing filler in tires and other rubber products.
